First Corollary - Anything that explodes bulges first.
Second Corollary - Large cities are the most explosive substances known to human science. Tokyo in particular seems to be the most unstable of these cities, sometimes referred to as "The Matchstick City".
Whenever someone or something jumps, is thrown, or otherwise is rendered airborne, gravity is reduced by a factor of 4.
Hehehe, several airborne fight scenes come to mind, such as Keiji vs. Xipetotec (both times), Eevee vs. Shuruk’jaar, Feyd vs. his alternate self in the Atellian temple, and the entire final fight scene from AA1 :D
Law of Temporal Variability
Time is not a constant. Time stops for the hero whenever he does something 'cool' or 'impressive'. Time slows down when friends and lovers are being killed and speeds up whenever there is a fight.
Is calling it Timeshifting an excuse? :P
Second Law of Temporal Mortality
It takes some time for bad guys to die... regardless of physical damage. Even when the 'Bad Guys' are killed so quickly they didn't even see it coming, it takes them a while to realize they are dead. This is attributed to the belief that being evil damages the Reality Lobe of the brain.
I think I counted four of five times Keiji had to “kill” Xipetotec?
Law of Energetic Emission
There is always an energy build up (commonly referred to as an energy 'bulge') before Mecha or space craft weapons fire. Because of the explosive qualities of weapons, it is believed that this is related to the Law of Inherent Combustability.
Mana cannon…also applies to every single Aeon-related attack…
Law of Inverse Lethal Magnitude (First Corollary)
The destructive potential of a weapon is inversely proportional to its size - small and cute will always overcome big and ugly. Also know as the A-Ko phenomenon.
Well that’s probably a comfort to the young Angels…
Law of Transient Romantic Unreliability
Minmei is a bimbo.
And Tsunami is a treacherous bitch :D
Law of Juvenile Intellectuality
Children are smarter than adults. And almost always twice as annoying.
Go Eevee ^-^
Law of Conservation of Firepower
Any powerful weapon capable of destroying/defeating an opponent in a single shot will invariably be reserved and used only as a last resort.
Tanis, Chouji, Neji (vs. Penance) and Zell…busted!
Law of Melee Luminescence
Any being displaying extremely high levels of martial arts prowess and/or violent emotions emits light in the form of a glowing aura. This aura is usually blue for 'good guys' and red for 'bad guys'. This is attributed to Good being higher in the electromagnetic spectrum than Evil.
Oh god, how many fight scenes have we written where we give the combatants auras? :P
Any colour in the visible spectrum is considered a natural hair colour. This colour can change without warning or explanation.
Fariel’s is blue :P But other than that I think we did quite well (Feyd, Neji, Keiji, Eevee, Penance, Tsunami and Tanis = dark, Sonya = honey blonde, Melina = brown, Beni = white…though we didn’t specify for a lot of them, come to think of it)
Clothing in anime follows certain predictable guidelines.
Female characters wear as little clothing as possible, regardless of whether it is socially or meteorologically appropriate. Any female with an excessive amount of clothing will invariably have her clothes ripped to shreds or torn off somehow. If there is no opportunity to tear off the afore-mentioned female's clothes, then she will inexplicably take a shower for no apparent reason (also known as the Gratuitous Shower Scene).
Ha! Eevee doesn’t dress like a tart…oh, wait, the Shower Scene…oops…hey no fair, Eevee was washing her clothes! Your guys can stay on the road for weeks without doing their laundry if they want but my characters actually have a sense of hygiene!
Whenever there is a headwind, all male characters will invariably wear a long cloak which doesn't hamper movement and billows out dramatically behind them.
Hehehe…Tanis, Feyd, Penance, Ghede, Soren and every elven character have either cloaks or trench coats - and I think I remember a cape-blowing scene being the very first image of Fariel at the start of AA1
Law of Quintupular Agglutination
(from Daniel Mikula)
Also called "The Five-man Rule," when "Good Guys" group together, it tends to be in groups of five. There are five basic positions, which are:
The Hero/Leader
His Girlfriend
His Best Friend/Rival
A Hulking Brute
A Dwarf/Kid
Between these basic positions are distributed several attributes, which include:
Extreme Coolness
Amazing Intelligence
Incredible Irritation
AA1: Hero = Tanis, Friend = Feyd, Girlfriend (or rather Friend’s girlfriend) = Sonya, Brute = Neji, Kid = Fariel. Neji and Feyd get the coolness, Sonya and Tanis pick up the intelligence and Fariel is the irritation :P
AA2: Hero = Keiji, (Ex-)Girlfriend = Tsunami, Friend = Eevee, Brute = Soven when he’s around, Kid = Promise (ditto). In this case Keiji is cool, Tsunami is smart and Eevee is very annoying :D
All anime females have an extradimensional storage space of variable volume somewhere on their person from which they can instantly retrieve any object at a moment's notice.
By the end of AA1, Fariel is carrying 2 daggers, 2 wave swords, some grenades, a water bottle, a Leviathan pendant, several throwing knives, shape-shifter bracers, a sword and a chocobo feather.
Law of Inverse Attraction
Success at finding suitable mates is inversely proportionate to how desperately you want to be successful. The more you want, the less you get.
Tough luck, Seneca :P
Law of Juvenile Omnipotence
Always send a boy to do a man's job. He'll get it done in half the time and twice the angst.
Yay! Go Keiji!
Law of Nominative Clamovocation
The likelihood of success and damage done by a martial arts attack is directly proportional to the volume at which the full name of the attack is announced.
I can see Neji, Kiba, and Penance in particular shuffling their feet awkwardly at this one XD
Law of Uninteruptable Metamorphosis
Regardless of how long or involved the transformation sequence or how many times they've seen it before, any 'Bad Guys' witnessing a mecha/hero/heroine transforming are too stunned to do anything to interrupt it.
It also works for bad guys (Gaget, Kiba and Xipetotec when they resurrect, and Shuruk’jaar)
HOWEVER - I can be smug and say we broke these ones :D
Law of Inexhaustability
No one *EVER* runs out of ammunition. That is of course unless they are cornered, out-numbered, out-classed, and unconscious.
Feyd is CLEARLY seen fledging some new arrows he made because he ran out, in AA1. Likewise Fariel acquires some replacement throwing knives in the Calm Lands. Although to be fair, she only ever uses two during the course of the entire story, which are thrown simultaneously at a pair of Guado in the Thunder Plains fight scene.
Law of Demonic Consistency
Demons and other supernatural creatures have at least three eyes, loads of fangs, tend to be yellow-green or brown (but black is not unknown), and can only be hurt by bladed weapons.
Our demons are many and varied :D From Xipetotec to Shuruk’jaar and his serpent-demons to the Dark Crusaders in AA1.
Law of Probable Attire (First Corollary - Cryo-Adaptability)
All anime characters are resistant to extremely cold temperatures, and do not need to wear heavy or warm clothing in snow.
Wrong again - Eevee, Tsunami and Keiji can all be seen suffering from the effects of cold in Macalania. In particular Tsunami when Keiji first meets her, who passes out from hypothermia.
Law of Inverse Accuracy (Third Corollary)
Whenever a 'Good Guy' is actually hit by enemy fire, it is in a designated 'Good Guy Area', usually a flesh wound in the shoulder or arm, which restricts the 'Good Guy' from doing anything more strenuous than driving, firing weaponry, using melee weapons, operating heavy machinery, or doing complex martial arts manoeuvres.
Exceptions: Tanis is run through by Selina, Sonya gets shot through the lung by Tromell, Feyd gets similarly lung-stabbed (down through the shoulder by the Guado assassin), Fariel is disabled by a crossbow bolt through the ankle then has her hand impaled and her eye smashed in (later she also gets her face burnt by Mika and her wing crushed by Zell so she’s a strong candidate for the Injury of the Year award), Neji takes several supposedly mortal stab-wounds (shape-shifter, Kiba) and is also turned to stone at one point…we’re more guilty of the Law of Infallible Healing:
Any injury, no matter how potentially mortal from system shock, blood loss and/or organ trauma can always be healed by a sufficiently talented mage or alchemist. Treatment will not be necessary until completion of the current fight scene and death of the antagonist. Similarly, even if a wound would be instantly fatal under normal circumstances, the character is always capable of hanging on until help arrives and said help will always be effective, even if they may appear to have died. Especially if they appear to have died, in fact - this is generally accepted to be a way of winding up the character’s loved ones, who invariably perform the healing.

Keiji in particular should have paid attention to no. 100
We are all guilty of no. 112
Soven should watch out for no. 115

Its disturbing how much of that apply to us lot alone :p Especially from AA1 I mean...Sonya, Kobie, Fariel, Neji and Tanis...that makes 5. Annd the best teams always come in 5's XD
