But remember, we can't build a RP purely around how cool the original story was, more important is scope for us to do something different or clever within the same world - otherwise we'd just be rehashing the original plot.

We already have. AA2 is far enough in the future from FF10 to make it almost a different world - plus we invented a whole slew of new characters, places, artefacts, weapons, spells...

The reason i thot that was because that the world is much bigger (Spira is just one big continent, when Ivalice has three with an interesting history, many differnt towns and citys, Spira only had like 7) with more opportunitys with the very very wide veriaty of races and occupations. The many races mean many areas in which they live.
