"Alright, time for some serious dragonage."

"No, no, I think it's actually two words..."

"Aw."

Don't know the game beyond what I see on The Escapist, but I'll look it up.

Dragon age is from the same ppl as Mass effect so the 2 games are similar the 2nd one more so. So basically think Medevil Mass Effect.

Ah, you should have, Mass Effect was good :)

I've been wanting to try a character study for a while now, see if I can write a good character turning evil and make it believable.  Would there be any scope for something like that?

Yeah, I could work my character's arc into that as I was thinking that Blood Magic could be the vector for their "fall" as well.  Depending on whether you want to redeem Tylore's sister or not it could be her that convinces him to start using it.

Do you only learn Blood Magic off of demons or could you learn from, say, the journal of another blood mage?

For example first you kill an evil Blood Mage and learn his secrets out of curiosity / trying to find its weaknesses, but vow never to use them...

Then in a desperate fight you find yourself out of mana and have to use Blood Magic for self defence, but vow to only use your own...

Then in another fight you are badly wounded and too weak to use your own blood, and so you use the blood of a mortally-wounded friend nearby, because they were going to die anyway...

I guess it would b possible. The thing is in Thedas (where dragon age is set) Blood magic is so rare it can only really be learnt from a demon but thats only in Dragon Age Orgins where you have to unlock it by making a deal with a demon, The same goes for the warrior classification Reaver. But in Dragon Age 2 you can specialize in it once u hit level 7 or 14 no deal needed. So yeh go for it.

She would most likely convince him to use blood magic she is pretty much beyond redemption firmly in the demons grasp.

For more on blood magic http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Blood_magic

Also gonna make a 2nd character card soon. A Templar!

Haha I take it the Malificar she's hunting ends up being Tylore's sister?

I like this - plus it gives you extra ammunition to try and justify it to yourself: "I didn't make a pact with any demon to learn this Blood Magic, I'm not corrupted!"

Yeh she is. To complicate stuff, thinking of having her a love interest although him being an apostate and she a templar complicates things enough never mind his sister being a malificar.
